This past Saturday we finally had the 2008 Photography Workshop at
CCk(Calvary Chapel Kendall). The idea came about because we wanted to give a wide range photography class that would cater to point and shoot and SLR camera users that attended CCk. I actually got to expand it a bit further and opened it up to anyone that wanted to attend. I know what you're thinking, it's impossible to give a one day class on photography and much less on two camera types! Well I think we pulled it off! Our goal was to get people to understand some basic principles and techniques while giving them the opportunity to explore their cameras. The class was from 9am to 3pm and we covered camera features, composition, file types, and all kinds of camera settings (Aperture, Shtter speed, etc).
The feedback was good enough that I'd like to continue teaching future workshops at different levels of photography and at different locations. I love to teach so I'm psyched and ready to do it!! Don't worry I'll keep you informed as this plan develops :)
Special thanks to George Cuevas and Rudy Garrido from CCk's Media team!! George is the Communications Director and he's the one that basically made my chicken scratch outline look SWEET!!! And Rudy is the Media Director and was the one that setup all the computers and all the rest. Phenomenal job guys!! It was a pleasure working with you on this workshop!! Also thanks to my wife Myleen and Jesse Casales for the awesome pics they took of the workshop. Here are some of those pics...
